Media was abuzz when a Mumbai daily reported that Sonakshi Sinha opted out of 'Viswaroopam' due to date clashes with earlier commitments. The actress was overwhelmed with this offer that would let her make a debut in Tamil opposite Kamal and this came as shock to those in the industry and others.

All this has led to a whole-new-talk about what has happened; now the Kollywood grapevine is abuzz that the actress didn't opt out of the project despite date clashes but the film makers wanted someone else to replace her due to Sonakshi’'s weight issues.

As we had earlier reported, the female lead may also have take part in some action scenes in 'Viswaroopam'.

The makers were happy to work with Sonakshi after watching her perform in 'Dabangg', but requested her to undergo some physical fitness training and reduce her weight before this film goes on floors, but Sonakshi seems to have gained a few extra pounds due to her tight work schedule.

And so the team had no option other than dropping the actress from the film, the latest is that Deepika Padukone is being approached to play this role, however, she is yet to give her nod. And with 'Rana' on, we can't be sure if Deepika will accept this role as well...
