The question everyone is asking is whether Shekar Kammula's film Leader cost a bomb. Though there has been no confirmation as yet from the makers about the film's budget, the grapevine suggests that the film is a lavish production from the AVM. Produced by M.Saravanan, M.S.Guhan, Aruna Guhan and Aparna Guhan, the film marks the debut of Daggubati Rana.

A socio-political drama, the film has reportedly been made at a whopping cost. The reason being that a make-believe Assembly set was erected to shoot some crucial scenes in the movie.

Though the director and the producers tried their best to secure special permission to shoot some portions of the film in the premises of the State Assembly in Hyderabad, their efforts failed. Uncompromising as ever, the makers erected one and shot the the scenes in the set.

If the grapevine is to be believed, the film could have cost anywhere around Rs. 15 cr. As the film is coming from a prestigious banner like AVM, it appears that it could be true.

Rana plays the Chief Minister in the film. It has music by Mickey J Meyer and art by Thota Tharani.
