Chiyaan Vikram's son Dhruv Vikram was all set to make his film debut with Varmaa, the remake of Tollywood blockbuster movie Arjun Reddy, with national award winning director Bala making it, and co-starring debutant Megha Chowdury and Raiza Wilson. The film was produced by E4 Entertainment.

However, the movie was completely scrapped after the producer expressed dissatisfaction over the output, and Bala wanted to protect his creative liberty. Varmaa was restarted totally, as Adithya Varma, with debutant director Gireesaaya directing the new version, and Dhruv himself acting in it, alongside Bollywood actress Banita Sandhu and Priya Anand.

After initial shoots in Chennai and Mumbai, the team had been shooting in Portugal, with Chiyaan Vikram himself been involved in monitoring the progress of the movie and Dhruv's performance. Now it has been reported that the shooting has reached final phase and 10 days of shooting is left, which will be canned in Dehradun. Adithya varma is expected to be wrapped by this month, and will aim a June - July release.
