Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil promised a 'lit' trailer for his upcoming movie Dhoomam and it's safe to say that the video delivers on all aspects. The film, helmed by Kannada filmmaker Pawan Kumar, will mark KGF and Kantara producers Hombale Films' debut Malayalam production and has all the trappings of an intriguing thriller from the mind of the maker of movies such as Lucia and U-Turn.
The trailer, which was released through the social media pages of the cast and crew on wednesday, promises to be a riveting thriller. The video starts off by introducing Fahadh's character as someone who pitches a smoking warning ad to a board room, before showing glimpses of a kidnapping and ransom plan - all with the intention of becoming rich. The movie hints at multiple twists and betrayals, and based on previous works of Pawan, would also be paced accordingly.
Pawan had said that he had no regrets making the movie in Malayalam, even though he had initially planned it in Kannada as C10H14N2 and spent a lot of time and effort to get it made in the language.
Actors weren't willing to dabble in an idea of this kind and producers didn't want to invest in the old script," he said, adding that the time also helped him further refine the script and get actors such as Fahadh, Roshan and Aparna onboard. The Lucia director also added that the characters in the current script assume a lot more importance than in the drafts he had pitched for the Kannada version.
Dhoomam is scheduled for a theatrical release on June 23rd.
