Former Union Minister Sanjay Paswan, a friend of MS Dhoni, has said that the legendary cricketer will most likely join the BJP after he retires from international cricket.

Speaking to a news agency, Paswan said that there has been a discussion regarding his entry into the saffron party since long. It's not clear if Dhoni ever told him he will join the party.

It may be noted that Dhoni supported the NDA government's 'Sampark for Samarthan' campaign before the Lok Sabha elections this year. BJP President Amit Shah met him in person and enlisted him in the campaign.

Since Dhoni is from Jharkhand, he could play a major role in the upcoming Assembly elections if he were to join the BJP. But for this to happen, he first has to retire soon.
