Dhoni faced no-ball controversy becomes big

"The ball on which MS Dhoni was given run out should be a dead ball or a no-ball because 6 players were outside the 30-yard circle and how can the umpire be such careless?" an angry Twitter user has asked. Thousands of similar messages have been read online since yesterday's shock defeat of India at the hands of New Zealand in the World Cup semis.

As per analysts, since Dhoni's was a run-out, he would have been out even if it was a no-ball. However, had the umpires been alert and immediately given a no-ball, Dhoni might not have been tempted to take two runs. He would have taken just one run and remained on the crease.

Dhoni's wicket sealed the fate of Men in Blue in the 49th over. From then, it was not about whether India will win but by how many runs it will lose.
