Yesterday’s match between India and Australia was an absolute cracker with both innings having us on the edge of our seats. It was a complete team performance from India who proved themselves in all departments i.e. batting, bowling, and fielding. But one more thing stood out from the match yesterday. The Indian fans in England were treated to a sure feast, seeing the two captains MS Dhoni (former) and current skipper Virat Kohli bat together. Whenever Dhoni hits a six the fans go wild, that’s known. But another fan of Thala was on the field with him. It was none other than Virat Kohli. 

When Dhoni hit a superb six off Starc’s ball in the 49th over, a stunned Virat Kohli stopped in his tracks and stared in shock at the ball that was soaring into the stands. Then he looks at Dhoni possibly with the same question all us fans have, “How? Just how did you hit that?” He was visibly impressed and his mouth was open. He can then be seen giggling and the two then shared a happy moment. The camaraderie between the two captains is super endearing and it is always a happy moment for the audience as well.

This is not the first time that Kohli has appreciated Captain Cool’s batting. And we can be sure it won’t be the last either. In the practice match versus Bangladesh, Dhoni hit a century, reaching the mark with a fabulous six. Virat Kohli was seen to be awestruck after the huge six of 90 meters. The love, respect, and admiration between the two speak volumes about the importance of team spirit.
