After 'Gunday', the first out and out 'masala' film to hit the screens, and that too after a span of a month and a half, is 'Main Tera Hero'. Varun Dhawan is coming across as an actor with many films under his belt and the visibility he has gained during last one year, thanks to quite a few endorsements, has ensured good visibility and connect with youth as well as family. The biggest hero of the film though is David Dhawan who had delivered a hit 'Chashme Baddoor' exactly a year back. With the promos gaining good reactions and Balaji promoting the film well, this fun entertainer has been in news for last couple of months.

All of this means that from the opening standpoint, 'Main Tera Hero' would have a good Friday. While at multiplexes one can expect an opening over the 70%, multiplexes should find over 50% occupancy which is good for a one film hero. There would be a definite dip in collections on Friday evening and Sunday evening though due to T-20 tournament. However the makers would be willing to accommodate that, considering the fact that 'Main Tera Hero' is the only major release of the week and doesn't have any competition, what with newer releases failing and 'Queen' as well as 'Ragini-MMS 2' coming to a close.

'Jal' is the other release of the week and though it has an interesting premise, the promotion leaves a lot to be desired. With a niche theme to it, the Purab Kohli starrer would find a select release for itself and would have to heavily depend on critical acclaim to find growing audience for itself over the weekend.
