Performance of 'Dharmadurai', 'Joker' and 'Kabali' in Chennai Box office

Vijay Sethupathi's latest release 'Dharmadurai' has emerged as a Hit in Chennai with 70% theater occupancy and the collections around Rs.70 lakhs in the just concluded weekend between August 26 to August 28.

The film has collected Rs.68,96,740 and the total collection in the period between the release date (August 19) to yesterday (August 28) is well above Rs.2.5 crores mark. Approximately Rs.2,56,94,350.

The film directed by Seenu Ramasamy has been screened 233 shows in 21 theaters across the city.

At the sametime director Raju Murugan's critically acclaimed 'Joker' has emerged as Super hit in the capital city. With 75 shows screened in 11 theaters, the film has collected around Rs.16 lakhs in the passing weekend.

With 70% occupancy, the film has collected approximately Rs.15,65,780 in this weekend and the total collection in the city stands at Rs.93,71,520.

Among this week's new Tamil releases 'Meendum Oru Kadhal Kadhai' the Tamil remake of 'Thattathin Marayathu' has managed to get a very good opening due to pre-release expectation. The film has collected Rs.13,38,570 from 66 shows in 12 theaters across Chennai with a good 85% occupancy.

Well publicized horror flick 'Bayam Oru Payanam' has managed to get a Average opening in its first weekend in Chennai Box Office. The film has collected Rs.7,35,165 with 70% theater occupancy,

The new age thriller '54321' directed by debutant Raghavendra Prasad with newcomers in the lead roles has also managed to get a Average opening with 75% seats occupied and Rs.6,12,670 collections in its opening weekend.

And last but not the least, our Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Kabali' still continues its merry run in Chennai.The film had 48 shows in nine theaters across Chennai and achieved 80% theater occupancy this weekend. The film has collected Rs.7,75,210 and the total collection stands at Rs.12,32,85,130 and director Pa.Ranjith has delivered a blockbuster.
