Dhanush's Kubera lands in Mumbai

Director Sekhar Kammula has been quietly filming "Kubera," a movie featuring two prominent stars from the industry, with little fanfare. Details about the film and its progress have been scarce until now, when a video from the film's set emerged, revealing that shooting is currently underway in Mumbai with Rashmika Mandanna and Dhanush.
In the video, In a video shared by a paparazzi photographer, Dhanush and Rashmika are captured walking towards their shooting spot. Dhanush is dressed in a dark suit, exuding a composed demeanor, while Rashmika opts for a light-colored kurta-pyjama set, radiating a charming smile as she realizes she’s being clicked. Dhanush walks by, seemingly unfazed by the surrounding bustle, while Rashmika's cheerful response adds a touch of warmth to the scene.
The storyline of "Kubera" remains shrouded in mystery, but given the title (named after the Hindu god of wealth) and Dhanush’s appearance, speculation suggests it may revolve around a wealthy individual and his downfall.
Previously, the movie underwent shooting in Tirupathi, where Dhanush portrayed a beggar in a fight sequence. The production team also encountered challenges while filming in the hills, resulting in further delays.
Apart from Dhanush and Rashmika, "Kubera" also features King Nagarjuna, who was last seen in "Naa Saami Ranga," reportedly portraying a cop. The film is slated to be a Tamil-Telugu bilingual release, with plans for distribution in Kannada, Hindi, and Malayalam as well.
In addition to "Kubera," Dhanush is currently involved in his passion project, "Raayan," where he directs and stars in a gangster drama set in North Madras. He is also simultaneously working on another directorial venture, "Nilavukku Enmel Ennadi Kobam," a young adult rom-com. Moreover, Dhanush is set to portray music maestro Ilaiyaraaja in a biopic directed by Arun Matheshwaran, although the project is still in its early stages.
