Actor Dhanush`s 25th film which is also his Production venture is having a successful run at a Box office and the film`s tremendous success is evident in its holding on to maximum number of even at the third week after the release. Now the Velraj directed film has courted controversy for a particular dialogue uttered by Dhanush in the film.
As per the story Dhanush will remain unemployed while his younger brother works at an IT company for a posh salary. When the parents chide Dhanush comparing him with his brother, Dhanush would retort saying that he was made to study in Ramakrishna Mission School while his brother could avail education in a high class school. Dhanush`s character would further say that he could not communicate in English since he studied in the Mission school.
This particular dialogue has irked the teachers and students of the RKM schools functioning across the state of Tamilnadu and they have condemned the dialogue that demeans their institution and have also demanded for the removal of the particular dialogue.
In a Press statement released on behalf of the institution it has been mentioned that “Ramakrishna Mission has been indulging in the great service of education poor and underprivileged children across the country. The mission has 150 schools at various locations of India including the one in Arunachal Pradesh bordering China. The dialogue uttered by Dhanush in the film not only demeans the contributions of the institution to the society but also harmful since it would create a bad name for the institution among the youngsters and the general public. We condemn the film`s director and the producer cum lead actor Dhanush for charging the institution functions under the name of Sri Ramakrishna, Mother Sharada Devi and Swami Vivekanandna without any basis.
The release also stated the dialogue should be removed and Dhanush and Velraj should tender a public apology failing which legal action and protests would be spearheaded against them.
