Actor Dhanush returned to screens with his latest movie Asuran, which was released yesterday, and the movie which is directed by Vetrimaran is their fourth movie together after Pollathavan, Aadukalam and Vada Chennai. The movie has music by GV Prakash who returns to the team after a gap.

Director Karthik Subbaraj, who is directing the next movie of Dhanush, D40 which is being shot in London watched Asuran and has tweeted praising the movie. Asuran marks the Tamil debut of Malayalam actress Manju Warrier, and the movie also stars Ken Karunas, Teejay, Aadukalam Naren, Pavan, Ammu Abhirami and Prakashraj. Asuran is adapted from the novel Vekkai written by Poomani and has been received well.
