Tamil superstar Dhanush will soon be seen in his third Bollywood film 'Atrangi Re'. The actor will share screen with Akshay Kumar and Sara Ali Khan in this Anand L Rai film. In a recent statement about the film, Dhanush revealed that initially he was quite unsure about Sara's casting in the role of a fiesty young woman. Apparently, he had doubts whether Sara had skills to pull off such a role.

During his recent appearance on Koffee Shots With Karan, Dhanush stated, "To be very honest, I was a little worried. It’s such a big role and a very difficult character to play. I asked Aanand ji, ‘How many films has she done?’ He told me 2 or 3 films, at that point of time. I was like, ‘Can she pull it off?’”

However, director Anand L Rai, who also directed Dhanush in 'Raanjhanaa', convinced him about Sara's capabilities. “Aanand ji kept telling me, ‘There is something I need and I see it in her.’ And he does. I don’t know how he cracks that. For some reason, out of nowhere, he brought me here to do Raanjhanaa. He had the conviction that this is my actor for the film. So, he must have seen something in her," Dhanush said.

'Atrangi Re' is going to release on Disney+ Hotstar on 24th of December.
