National award winner Vetrimaan has directed his third film Visaranai` after a gap of four years and this film has received a rare honour even before its release. He has also produced the film along with actor Dhanush.
The film starring Dinesh, Anandhi and Samuthirakani in important roles has been selected for screening in the Venice International Film Festival under the Orizzonti competitive category. It is worth noting that Visaranai` has achieved the pride of being the first Tamil film to be screened in the 72 year history of the film festival.
The film`s music director G.V.Prakash and one of the producers Dhanush have shared this news in their respective Twitter handles.
It is worth noting that Kaakka Muttai` that came with the association of Vetrimaran and Dhanush as producers and G.V.Prakash as composer was screened in various international film festivals even before its Indian theatrical release.
In the 72 years history of Venice film festival #Visaaranai is the first Tamil feature to enter in a competitive category.
