Actor Dhanush and director Vetrimaran have been a successful team, with critically acclaimed as well as commercially successful movies like Pollathavan, Aadukalam, Vada Chennai, and Dhanush had also produced Vetrimaran's Visaranai. Both have won a lot of awards for their movies together.

Now, the team is coming together again with Asuran which is based on the novel Vekkai by Poomani, and the movie had been shooting for the past 3 months. Recently, the team began filming the last schedule of the movie, and it has been revealed that the shooting of Asuran will be completed by June end.

Following this, Dhanush will be moving to the shoot of Durai Senthilkumar's movie for Satyajyothi films while Asuran will be in post production phase, with audio and trailer release planned next month. Asuran has music by GV Prakash and also stars Manju Warrier, Pasupathy, Balaji Sakthivel, and Dhanush will be seen in dual roles.
