'Kodi' directed by Durai Senthilkumar is touted to be a political thriller. Dhanush plays dual roles in the film. Nothing about the story or plot of the film have been revealed so far.

Now we learn from a source that the plot of 'Kodi' will have a similarity with Dhanush's father-in-law Superstar Rajinikanth's mega blockbuster 'Padayappa'.

The main storyline of 'Padayappa' is Neelambari's efforts to become the wife of Padayappa who fails in that as Padayappa marries another girl. The second half dealt with her efforts to avenge him and how Padayappa, played by Rajinikanth overcomes the hurdles created by her. Ramya Krishna made the Neelambari character as one of most admired female antagonist roles in Tamil cinema.

In 'Kodi', we learn that Dhanush and Trisha are lovers; Dhanush marries some other girl for his political ambitions and Trisha plans to avenge her former lover.

It is worth mentioning that ever since the launch of the film it is being reported that Dhanush plays a politician and Trisha a character with negative shades in this film.

We will have to wait for the release of the film to know whether these speculations are true.
