Actor-producer Dhanush's first dual role flick 'Kodi' has been confirmed to hit the screens on October 25, 2016 as a Deepavali treat. With this Dhanush and Karthi will have a head to head clash in box office after five years, as the latter's mega budget fantasy horror flick 'Kaashmora' is also scheduled to release in theatres for the festival of lights.
The last time Karthi and Dhanush had a BO clash for 2011 Pongal when 'Siruthai' and 'Aadukalam' released. Both the films were commercial successfully while the Dhanush starrer was also critically acclaimed and went on to win multiple national awards.
'Kodi' has two heroines Trisha and Anupama Parameshwaran and it is touted to be a political subject. Both Dhanush and Trisha apparently play politicians in the film. Anupama has been paired opposite the younger Dhanush. Veteran director and Vijay's father S.A.Chandrasekar has acted in an important supporting character. The film has been directed by Durai Senthilkumar of 'Ethirneechal' and 'Kaaki Sattai' fame.
Interestingly, 'Kaashmora' also has the presence of two leading heroines Nayanthara and Sridivya while Karthi reportedly plays triple roles in the film. This film has been directed by Gokul of 'Idharkuthaney Aasaipattai Balakumara' fame
Both 'Kaashmora' and 'Kodi' have the musical score of Santhosh Narayanan. While the former has been produced by S.R.Prakash Babu and S.R.Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures banner, the latter is produced by Dhanush himself under his Wunderbar Films banner.
