After his successful outing as a director in 'Pa Paandi' the film in which he also played an extended cameo role, Dhanush's next release as the lead actor will be 'VIP 2', the sequel to his 2014 super hit 'Velai Illa Pattadhari'.

The shooting of the film written by Dhanush and directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth has been completed long back and the post production works are going in full swing.

Now Dhanush who is also the producer of thefilm has announced that the theatrical release date of the film will be announced today. This is a great news for fans waiting to watch the film in theaters.

'VIP 2' retains the star cast of the first part including the lead actress Amala Paul. Apart from that Bollywood actress Kajol is making a comeback in Tamil after two decades, playing an important role in this film. Sean Roldan has provided the music score.

The sequel has been produced by Dhanush's Wunderbar Films banner and Kalaipuli S.Thanu's V Creations.
