'Thiruchitrambalam' is the next theatrical release of Dhanush after more than a year. Sun Pictures is currently treating the fans with consecutive updates on the film's characters. Raashi Khanna is playing Dhanush's high school friend Anusha and Priya Bhavani Shankar will be seen as the village girl Ranjani.

Now, the makers have announced that veteran director Bharathiraja will be seen as Senior Thiruchitrambalam, a loving grandfather. It seems that Dhanush is playing Bharathiraja's grandson in the movie. On the other hand, Prakash Raj will play Inspector Neelakandan, a strict police officer. The film is all set to release in theatres on Dhanush's birthday July 28.

Thiruchitrambalam is touted to be a romantic comedy-drama film directed by Mithran Jawahar. With music by Anirudh, the movie stars Dhanush, Raashi Khanna, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Nithya Menen, Prakash Raj and Bharathiraja in prominent roles. The story covers the love stories of the lead role in different time periods.
