The title of actor Dhanush's maiden Telugu movie was announced today. Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas have collaborated for this Telugu-Tamil bilingual. Producers S Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya (Trivikram's wife, who has embarked on a movie-production mission) have announced the title. S Naga Vamsi is producing Pawan Kalyan-Rana Daggubati's 'Bheemla Nayak' currently, among other projects.
The title is 'Sir'. "An ambitious & heartwarming journey of a common man (sic)," the makers wrote, making the title reveal. It's titled 'Vaathi' in Tamil.
Venky Atluri of 'Tholi Prema' and 'Rang De' fame is the captain of the ship. For the young filmmaker, 'Sir' marks his Kollywood debut. He must be completing the pre-production works with due diligence, considering that this is the most important project in his career so far.
The film has a college backdrop (we see a blackboard and a classroom with empty chairs in the motion poster) and co-stars Malayalam star Samyuktha Menon, Sai Kumar, and Tanikella Bharani. With music by GV Prakash Kumar, its cinematography is by Dinesh Krishnan.
Dhanush's fans are happy that their favorite actor is finally debuting in Telugu more than 20 years after he became an actor. He is no stranger to non-Tamil movies, having done three Bollywood movies already: 'Raanjhanaa', 'Shamitabh', and 'Atrangi Re'. The last of these three will stream on Disney+Hotstar from today.
