Actor Dhanush and director Vetrimaaran, who were known for giving hits like Pollathavan, Aadukalam and Vada Chennai teamed up for the fourth time last year for the movie Asuran, which was adapted from the novel Vekkai written by Sahitya Academy award winner Poomani.

Also starring Manju Warrier, Ken Karunaas, Ammu Abhirami and Teejay Arunasalam, Asuran which had music by GV Prakash became a massive hit and went on to win many awards for Dhanush. Now the official update is out on the Telugu remake of the blockbuster movie.

The Telugu remake of Asuran has been titled as Naarappa and will have Venkatesh playing the role played by Dhanush. The first look posters featuring a violent and rustic Venkatesh was released yesterday. Directed by Sreekanth Addala, Naarappa is produced by Kalaippuli S Thanu and Suresh Productions.
