Actor Dhanush was supposed to have started 'Vada Chennai', the dream project of Vetrimaran after completing 'Kodi' directed by Durai Senthilkumar which he started in the dawn of 2016. But after completing 'Kodi', the National award winning actor started shooting for director Gautham Menon's 'Yenai Nokki Paayum Thotta'. He also has the Hollywood project 'Fakir' and has recently announced a new movie with director Karthik Subbaraj.

All these film are expected to keep him busy for the remaining part of the year. But film buffs have started worrying about 'Vada Chennai' which should have started in early 2015 Dhanush hadn't got Bollywood offers at that time.

In a bid to get some useful information on when actually would 'Vada Chennai' commence we got a startling information from a reliable source that 'Vada Chennai' will go on floors only in 2017.

Our source says that Vetrimaran wanted 150 days of bulk call sheet from Dhanush '. Owing to his prior commitments, Dhanush can allocate this many number of days only in 2017. Hence the duo have decided to push their project to next year and that's why Dhanush is signing up more films this year as 'Vada Chennai' will make him busy for a relatively long period of time.

As we had reported earlier Vetrimaran has revealed that 'Vada Chennai' deals with story of the underworld network in North Chennai spanning across three to four decades. He has reportedly planned the film to be made in two parts.

'Vada Chennai' will have Dhanush, Samantha and Andrea Jeremiah in lead characters with Santhosh Narayanan handling the musical score.
