'Power Paandi' amazingly withstands 'Baahubali 2' storm

There is literally no adjective to describe the extent of 'Baahubal 2' fever that had gripped the film buffs across the country over the weekend and Chennai is no exception to the 'Baahubali 2' mania. The film has taken a tremendous opening record in Chennai box office as well as other places and director S.S.Rajamouli's grand sequel has already started setting huge box office records. That too all the three language versions of the film (Tamil, Telugu and Hindi) have been released in Chennai and all of them are drawing large crowds.
However despite the 'Baahubali 2' storm, Dhanush's debut directorial 'Power Paandi' which has performed exceptionally well in the Chennai Box Office in its third weekend. The Rajkiran starrer was being retained in eight theaters and 41 shows were screened over the weekend. With this the film has collected Rs.5,53,840 with an amazing 90% occupancy rate.
The total collection made but the film in Chennai stands at Rs.1,81,97,690 and the film made on a medium budget has been declared as a genuine Hit.
