Dhanush has the unique knack of picking up the right scripts and never shies away from experimenting between meaningful cinema and commercial projects as evidenced in his recent super hits 'Vada Chennai', 'Asuran' and 'Pattaas'. He has a big lineup of films in the pipeline including 'Karnan' directed by Maari Selvaraj, 'D43' directed by Karthik Naren and 'D44' directed by Mithran Jawahar.
In the meantime the lockdown time has also given Dhanush a chance to get his second directorial venture 'DD2' back on track. The historical fantasy film tentatively titled 'Naan Rudran' has Dhanush only as a director and the starcast of Nagarjuna, S.J. Suryah, Srikanth, Sarathkumar, Aditi Rao Hydari and Anu Emmanuel. The high budget film bankrolled by Sri Thenandal Studios went on floors in 2018 but was stalled due to financial constraints.
Now the buzz is that Sri Thenandal Films has entered a deal with Endemol Shine the producers of 'Bigg Boss' to make several projects and the first will be 'DD2'. We already reported that Vijay's 'Thalapathy 66' will also be funded by this new corporate combo. We have to wait for official confirmation that is expected to come in the first week of July.
