Months back we already reported to you that Danush will be teaming up with Arun Matheswaran of 'Rocky' fame for a movie. As the speculation became stronger on the internet Dhanush has finally confirmed the same on his official Twitter today.

The Gray man actor took to Twitter to confirm the same and called himself fortunate to have bagged his project. He wrote, "Yes. The speculations are true. I am that fortunate actor who bagged @ArunMatheswaran‘s next directorial. More details soon. Om Namashivaaya (sic)."

Arun Matheswaran responded by posting, "Thank you so much for the trust @dhanushkraja. I am humbled and truly honoured for your kind words.. I am the fortunate one here. Looking forward to this big journey !" (sic) This upcoming film is reportedly a gangster drama set in the 1950s. Dhanush will be seen in a fresh look and the film work is expected to begin in late 2022.

Arun Matheswaran was an assistant director to Thiagarajan Kumararaja. His directorial debut is Vasanth Ravi-starrer Rocky, released in theatres on December 23. His next film is titled Saani Kaayidham starring director Selvaraghavan (elder brother of Dhanush) and Keerthy Suresh. Saani Kaayidham will release in theatres sometime in 2022.
