Popular hero criticises Dhanush movie for glorifying harassment!

National award winning actor Dhanush made his debut in Bollywood with Raanjhanaa directed by Aanand L Rai. The movie also had Sonam Kapoor as the female lead besides Abhay Deol, Swara Bhaskar, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub in supporting roles and music by A.R.Rahman.

Now, 7 years after its release, the film has been criticised by Abhay Deol who played the character Akram Zaidi in the movie Abhay Deol as he has posted on social media, slamming that the movie's writing glorified stalking and sexual harassment. Abhay Deol called the movie regressive, and quoted scenes in the movie that can lead to sexual violence.

Sharing a post on Instagram, Abhay wrote wrote, "Such clear and valid insight from @oldschoolrebel9 regarding the film Raanjhana. History will not look kindly at this film for its regressive message. It’s been a theme in Bollywood for decades, where a boy can (and should), pursue a girl until she relents. Only in cinema does she do that willfully. In reality we have seen time and again that it leads to sexual violence of some sort. Glorifying it on screen only leads to blaming the victim, as @oldschoolrebel9 explains it so brilliantly. Please do take time out to read her observations in the pics above. #shedoesnotlikeyou #growup #gloryfyingsexualharrasment”. This post by Abhay Deol has turned viral on social media.
