It is going to be 'Ponniyin Selvan' versus Dhanush's 'Naane Varuvean' (as 'Nenu Vastunna' in Telugu) at the Telugu and Tamil box offices on the last weekend of this month. Mani Ratnam's magnum opus is scheduled to hit the screens on September 30. On the other hand, Dhanush's movie will be released on the 29th of this month. So, they are getting released on two consecutive days.
This clash is made more interesting by the fact that 'Nenu Vastunna' is going to be released in Telugu by Allu Aravind's 'Geetha Arts', while 'Ponniyin Selvan' is a Dil Raju release.
The Dhanush-starrer is directed by Selvaraghavan and it reportedly has the 'Jagame Thandhiram' actor in the role of a cowboy. He will be seen in dual roles in this promising one. After the stupendous success of 'Thiruchitrabalam' in Tamil, Dhanush is hoping for a second hit.
On the other hand, Dil Raju is betting big on the Mani Ratnam multi-starrer, which has got Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai, and Trisha in the main roles.
Surely, movie buffs are going to have a great time trying two contrasting films.
