The Netflix documentary on Lady Superstar Nayanthara and director Vignesh Shivan’s wedding, released on November 18, has become the centre of a heated controversy. The couple, who fell in love during the making of "Naanum Rowdy Dhaan", earlier criticized actor-producer Dhanush for refusing to issue a NOC to use the making footage from the film in the documentary.
Earlier, Dhanush issued a legal notice to Nayanthara, demanding ₹10 crore in compensation for the unauthorized usage of the visuals in the documentary's trailer. Despite the lack of permission, the documentary includes visuals from the 2015 hit film "Naanum Rowdy Dhaan", produced by Dhanush under his Wunderbar Films banner.
The controversy escalated as Wunderbar Films filed a civil suit in the Madras High Court against Nayanthara, Vignesh Shivan, and their production house, Rowdy Pictures. The court, taking up the matter, has directed both Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan to provide their responses to the allegations.
This legal dispute has garnered significant attention, casting a shadow over what was intended to be a heartwarming showcase of the couple’s love story and wedding. With the court proceedings underway, the industry and fans are closely following the developments, eagerly awaiting the couple’s next move in this unfolding drama.
