We have just reported about Dhanush donating financial help for 125 farmer families. There is a touching backstory behind the phenomenal gesture of Dhansuh and here is it.
A Tamil journalist named Rajiv Gandhi has made a documentary about the pathetic state of farmers living in the Tanjore and other parts of Cauvery delta region. The documentary titled as 'Kolai Vilaiyum Nilam' was unveiled a few weeks ago in an event which was attended by actor Vijay Sethupathi and director Subramania Siva.
Subramania Siva hails from a farmer's family in Tanjore. The director of 'Thiruda Thirudi' which is one of the early blockbusters in Dhanush's career is also closely associated with the multi-talented star in his recent films. Siva has apparently screened his documentary to Dhanush and explained more about the struggles faced by the farmers' families.
Earlier today, Rajiv Gandhi himself has revealed in his Facebook page that Dhanush has decided to donate Rs.50,000/- for each of the families of 125 farmers who have committed suicide due to livelihood crisis. Now Dhanush has donated the money to the affected families today by personally meeting them.
Rajiv Gandhi has also mentioned that it is director Siva and fan club members of Dhanush who collected the details of the affected families who have got the much needed financial support from Dhanush.
IndiaGlitz salutes the great humanitarian gesture of Dhanush that too for the farming community. More praise to him as he never tried to use it for publicity. We also appreciate director Subramaniam Siva and documentary director Rajiv Gandhi for their inspirational concern and hard work towards the betterment of farmers who give food for the entire society.
