Heroes sporting six packs has become a normal affair in Kollywood. But what is normal need not be the one that can be achieved easily. National award winning actor Dhanush can be credited to increase the reach of six packs look when it was a fairly new idea in Tamil film industry. He sported the six packs looks or something close to that for his 2007 hit film Polladhavan' which was also the debut film of director Vetrimaran.

In his 25th film Velai Illa Pattadhari' which has been produced under his Wunderbar Films banner Dhanush sports six packs and this has raised a huge buzz among fans. Even a poster of the film was released with Dhanush's six packs look that went viral in social networking sites.

Speaking about his looks for the film in a recent Press Meet, Dhanush said, “Though I have a lean frame, building a six pack (abdomen) is always tough. Before the bare bodied stunt scene which is depicted in the poster, I had to go off water for two days. I had to also maintain a special diet and exercise to get the six packs. However, it's only an extra addition and of decorative value in the film and not imperative for my role”.

VIP is the debut directorial venture of ace cinematographer Velraj. The film stars Amala Paul as the lead heroine who fits the character of a girl next door as revealed with a satisfactory note by the film's hero cum producer. Samuthirakani and Saranya play Dhanush's parents in the film while Vivekh has taken up a role that will enter only in the second half.
