The National award winning actor Dhanush has added another striking feather to his hat. Yes, the multi-talented celebrity who has achieved big as an actor, producer, singer and lyricist is venturing into direction and will start shooting for his debut directorial from today.

Dhanush's father Kasthuri Raja, elder brother Selvaraghavan and wife Aishwarya are noted filmmakers. For many years now, Dhanush has been encountering the question on when he will make his directorial debut f and his constant answer has been that he is indeed interested to wield the megaphone but he has taken a long time to get trained for the most crucial job.

Now Dhanush has finally announced the film he will be directing for the first time. The film has been titled as 'Power Pandi' and it will have veteran actor Raj Kiran playing the main lead character. Interestingly Dhanush's father Kasthuri Raja also made his directorial debut with the Raj Kiran starrer 'En Raasavin Manasile' that released in 1991. 25 years back Kasthuri Raja's son is making his directorial debut with the same actor.

'Power Pandi' will also have actor Prasanna playing Raj Kiran's son. Chaya Singh, who made her acting debut with Dhanush in the 2003 blockbuster 'Thiruda Thirudi' has been cast in an important character in this film. Velraj will handle the cinematography while Sean Roldan will be rendering the musical score for this film.

Apart from directing. Dhanush will also produce the film under his Wunderbar Films banner. The first look has been released just now. Sources say that the shooting will commence today in Chennai.
