It would have come as a major surprise to many as Dhanush announced his directorial debut without much fanfare today. For those who have watched him make a steady progression from a small time hero of a dubious genre to winning the National Award and making waves as a lyricist, singer and producer, it has little shock value.

On top of all his achievements in Tamil cinema, Dhanush is probably going through an all time high in his career so far. He is currently starring in and producing Vada Chennai` directed by Vetrimaaran which is the first of its kind in Tamil cinema, that tells one story in three parts. Dhanush is directing the very, very interesting looking Power Pandi` starring Rajkiran, Prasanna and Chaaya Singh. The jewel in the crown comes in the form of Dhanush producing Superstar Rajinikanth`s next film directed by Pa. Ranjith. Way to go Dhanush!.
