Dhanush just broke the internet with the day's biggest announcement. We informed you well ahead that he has moved to his next biggie 'D50' right after wrapping up the shooting for 'Captain Miller'. Taking to social media, the actor officially confirmed that his milestone project has commenced.

Dhanush along with Sun Pictures announced that D50 will be written and directed by the actor himself and the shooting has begun today. The makers dropped a uber mass poster featuring the back pose of Dhanush in his tonsured head look with a sharp weapon in his hand. It was set in an industrial and harbour background.

The official announcement regarding the rest of the cast and crew will be made soon. The movie went on the floors with a muhurat puja ceremony in ECR today. According to a source, "A huge set with over 500 houses have been constructed in a studio on ECR and the filming will begin there. There will be a glimpse video of the film that will be presented to Dhanush’s fans and audience soon.”

Reportedly, the team has planned to shoot the movie in a single stretch for 90 days and call it a wrap in October. 'D50' is tentatively titled 'Raayan' with SJ Suryah and Sundeep Kishan playing Dhanush's brothers and Dushara Vijayan as the sister. Aparna Balamurali plays Sundeep’s love interest in the movie. Kalidas Jayaram is said to play a crucial role in the revenge drama which has music by Isai Puyal AR Rahman.
