Dhanush's magnum opus 'Captain Miller' is coming to cinemas on 12th January 2024. The makers held a grand pre-release event in Chennai on Wednesday and it became a hot topic on social media. The entire cast and crew including Dhanush were present at the event. Let's see some excerpts from the big night.

Talking at the ceremony, actor Sundeep Kishan said, "Thank you Dhanush Anna Fans. The relationship between him and me is unique. I have a lot of influence from him as an actor. When I aspired to be an actor, my inspiration was Selva sir, Dhanush Anna. He has put a lot of trust in me and I will be worthy of it. Thanks to Sathya Jyothi Films for giving me the first check and believing in me as a hero when I was not believed in as an actor at home. A film like this can only be made if there is love for cinema, thanks to Sathya Jyothi Films. Dhanush sir, thank you for trusting Arun Matheswaran to make this film. Arun's work is great. Everyone has worked hard for Captain Miller. Shivarajkumar has a golden heart and Priya is a very, very good girl. We have all made this film with love. Music composer GV Prakash said, "I'm happy that Captain Miller is the first event of the new year. The film will be a work that Tamil cinema and Indian cinema will be proud of. Everyone has put in so much effort. It is only when we make certain films that we seem to be working on a bigger, more important art. This film is such a film. The journey started with Dhanush sir in Polladhavan. Every time I would say that I will get an award for this, he would tease me that they won't give me all that. But he won many awards after Aadukalam, Mayakkam Enna and Asuran. He has done something very innovative in this film. Everyone will love it. The film will be a new experience. Thanks to everyone."

After him, my favourite actor is Dhanush. We have done 3 films with him and the journey continues. It was my son who first told me about Arun. I saw his film Rocky and it left me in awe. Director Arun Matheswaran said, "My first thanks to TG Thiagarajan sir. Thank you for believing in me and making a big film like Captain Miller. First, I wrote a story called Devdas which GV knows. I tried to contact Dhanush sir for that story but I couldn't. I also had him in mind for Rocky, but it didn't happen. When this opportunity came, I immediately sent this story. He trusted me. He agreed to act in the film even before the release of Rocky. Next, we are going to make another big film. Whenever I write a story, Dhanush sir is the first actor that comes to my mind. Thank you Dhanush sir for believing in me. GV is very close to me and it was a pleasure to do a film with him. I went to Bangalore to meet Shivrajkumar sir and seeing him was like a Godfather movie experience. There he was. He came on board saying he likes Dhanush and is doing it for him. He was a star but kept us all at ease. On the first day of shooting, Priyanka was given a gun and she got scared. Shee got used to it in a few days and acted brilliantly. Actually, Arun Matheswaran is the devil of this film. After seeing the hardwork he and his team put in, all the trouble I went through was nothing. I have worked with many new directors. Arun always reminds me of Vetrimaaran when I see him. When I met him first, I had my doubts. I heard the story for 15 minutes, and then felt it was on a huge scale. I asked him if it could be brought on screen. And he was very confident. Now I've seen the film. He has done what he said. It was in Polladhavan that I was introduced to GV and the journey began there. He has done many super-hit songs for me. Whenever I call him, he is ready to work for this buddy. GV, I love you. Shiva Rajkumar sir keeps saying that he is my fan, I bow down to his character and humility. You have to learn from him how to live up to a great father's name.
