Actor Dhanush who was last seen in the Balaji Mohan direcotorial Maari 2, also starring Sai Pallavi and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar is currently working on two movies, the Vetrimaran directorial Asuran and the untitled movie directed by Kodi director Durai Senthilkumar.

Of these two projects, the first to release will be Asuran, which is based on Poomani's novel Vekkai, and is the fourth movie of Dhanush directed by Vetrimaran after Pollathavan, Aadukalam and Vada Chennai. Asuran also stars Manju Warrier, Pasupathi and Balaji Sakthivel.

Produced by Kalaipuli S Thaanu, Asuran's final schedule is happening now, and is expected to end this month, after which Dhanush will move to shoot for Durai Senthil Kumar movie. The latest speculation making rounds is that, the team is planning to release Asuran on October 2, Gandhi Jayanthi, and the extended Dussehra weekend. An official announcement on this speculation is awaited.
