The cat is finally out of the bag….the film that brings Dhanush and Trisha together for the first time has been christened 'Aadukalam'. Directed by Vetri Maaran who had churned out 'Polladhavan' earlier, the film is expected to have a riveting storyline based on a real-life incident that happened decades ago in Madurai.

As reported earlier, Dhanush is currently undergoing rigorous training to suit an intense role that would have all the makings of generating a spellbinding performance. He plays a Madurai youth and as reports have it, he would appear in a never-seen-before appearance. His mastery over the Madurai dialect is mighty important for the film and the lanky actor is keen to get it right.

Dhanush's character is expected to be an absorbing one and as the name of the film suggests, the story could penetrate and permeate within the realms of life as a high voltage game. One gets the feeling Vetri Maaran's 'Aadukalam' would go along these lines…. a battlefield is a soldier's playground while a playground for a sportsman becomes his battlefield.

Dhanush is currently riding on a giant wave of success with a hat trick of hits. He sure would want to back this success with performances that would interest and appease audiences. Keeping this in mind, Vetri Maaran's style of filmmaking would most certainly be the right foil for Dhanush. Though just one film old, the 'Polladhavan' director has proved to be quite powerful with his style of narration.

'Aadukalam' will have Trisha playing an Anglo Indian girl who falls in love with Dhanush. Societal problems however are expected to play a major role in this love affair.

Madurai plays such a pivotal role in the film that director Vetri Maaran has started an office in the 'Temple City' to absorb the essence of the place to the fullest. Such a move is the first of its kind in the history of Tamil Cinema.

'Aadukalam' has already generated a lot of curiosity that Sun Pictures has acquired the yet-to-be-shot film and would be involved in marketed and distributing it. Shooting for the film begins in Madurai from the 22nd of this month.
