Court dismisses Dhanush and Aishwarya Rajinikanth case

A case filed against top actor Dhanush and his ex-wife Aishwarya Rajinikanth has been dismissed by a Chennai court. The ex-couple owned popular film production house Wunderbar Films and have produced several films. One of thier biggest hit was 'Velai Illa Pattadhari' aka 'VIP' released in the year 2014.
A few years back Dr. V.K. Palani the director of Director of Public Health and Preventive Medicines Department, Tamil Nadu had filed a case in Saidapet court saying that the statutory warning that smoking is harmful to health was not made in a particular scene in which Dhanush smokes on screen.
Both Dhanush and Aishwarya filed petitions in the Madras High Court to quash the case. The petition came up for hearing again today before Justice N. Anand Venkatesh.
At that time, the government and Tamil Nadu People's Organization for Tobacco Control protested that the case should not be quashed. However after considering all the aspects of the case, Justice Anand Venkatesh dismissed the case pending in Saidapet court.
Dhanush has just completed shooting for the magnum opus 'Captain Miller' directed by Arun Matheswaran and costarring Priyanka Arul Mohan and Shivarajkumar. He has also started directing his 50th movie produced by Sun Pictures.
Aishwarya Rajinikanth on the other hand is directing 'Lal Salaam' starring Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in the lead roles with Superstar Rajinikanth appearing in a powerful character along with veteran actresses Jeevitha and Nirosha. The film produced by Lyca has music by A.R. Rahman and is nearing completion.
