Dhanush one of the leading pan Indian stars has shocked his fans by announcing that he is splitting from his wife Aishwarya Rajinikanth. The statement came out of the blue earlier tonight in the most unexpected manner.

Dhanush wrote on Twitter "18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other..The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting...Today we stand at a place where our paths separate...Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better."

The top star added "Please respect our decision and give us the needed privacy to deal with this. Om Namashivayaa. Spread Love."

Aishwarya Rajinikanth has also posted the same statement with just their names switched. The couple fell in love almost two decades back and got married with the blessings of Superstar Rajinikanth. They have two sons Lingaa and Yatra.
