Vetrimaran has directed and co-produced Visaranai` has just returned from the Venice International Film Festival, where the film was screened and also won the prestigious award Cinema for Human Rights`. This film has been produced by actor DHanush and Vetriamaran. What he has revealed in an interview today will go as a proof for the level of confidence that actor and producer Dhanush has reposed on this highly talented filmmaker.

Dinesh has acted in the lead role in this film while Dhanush has been the hero of Polladhavan` and Aadukalam`, the two films Vetrimaran has directed prior to Visaranai`.

To a question on why he opted for Dinesh instead of Dhanush for Visaranai`, Vetrimaran said that Dhanush had to allocate four months for a Bollywood project while they were about to start Soodhadi`. Vetriamaran preferred doing a quickie in the time available. When Dhanush asked, the story of that film Vetrimaran started narrating the story of Visaranai` which was about four youngsters. However Dhanush did not listen to the full story as he felt that if he heard the story he cannot let it go to any other actor and that would make Vetrimaran to wait for a long time.

But Dhanush came forward to produce the film without knowing the story and he is yet to watch the film.

Visaranai` is a film made by Vetrimaran based on Lock-up` a novel written by an auto driver named Chandran. The film stars Dinesh, Kayal` Anandhi and Samuthirakani in important roles.
