With the songs of "Shankardada M.B.B.S." becoming a rage, music composer Devisri Prasad has joined the big league, while for Ramana Gogula it is comeback time with "Aapthudu".
1. "Shankardada M.B.B.S.": Impressed with the massive success of the film's audio, reigning star Chiranjeevi has signed its young composer Devisri Prasad for his next film to be directed by Srini Vytla. The title number of "Shankardada" and the "Chaila Chaila" number have turned out chartbusters. The success of the film has increased audio sales, heralding the arrival of Prasad into the big league.
2. "Aapthudu": Composer Ramana Gogula makes a strong comeback with this film. He has mixed melody, folk tunes and a devotional song to enthral listeners, while moving away from his Westernized compositions. He has provided good music for a routine action potboiler. But the audio's success is also dependent on how the film would fare.
3. "Anand": Debutant composer Radhakrishnan, a classical exponent, comes up with soulful, classical numbers with legendary Veturi's lyrics elevating them to a different plane. "Guche guche mabulara" is enchanting while other numbers are worth listening to. The album comes like an oasis in a desert, breaking the stereotype Telugu film music.
4. "Swarnaabhishekam": Ace director K. Viswanath teams up with composer Vidyasagar for this classical film woven around two brothers. It has nine numbers, of which "Aadhi needani" and "Kasturi tilakam" are captivating. Vidyasagar, known to Telugu listeners as a commercial scorer, surprises with a classical album.
5. "Sye": Despite strong competition, the audio holds its place in the top five, as Keeravani has proved that he can dish out vibrant tunes for the youth, breaking away from his image of a melody-maker. The title number and few folk numbers have made the audio a winner. Good picturisation by Rajamouli has enhanced the numbers.
