A very special day for Prabhu Deva

Today is the 44th birthday of the real multi talented Pan Indian star Prabhu Deva. The son of Dance master Sundaram has carved a niche for himself as a dance choreographer, actor, director and producer in Kollywood, Tollywood and Bollywood. He has also acted in Kannada and Malayalam film.

Prabhu Deva started his film career as an assistant in the troupe of his father Dance Sundaram. He appeared as the lead dancer in popular dance numbers he choreographed for Tamil films and eventually got introuced as a lead actor through director Pavithran's 'Indhu' in 1994. Then he acted in director Shankar's 'Kadhalan' which turned out to be a blockbuster and that converted him as a full fledged leading hero throughout the 1990s and early years of the new millennium.

Prabhu Deva continued to work as choreographer in many films across multiple languages through he was busy as a hero. He won the National Award for Best Choreography in 1996 for the film 'Minsara Kanavu'.

The year 2005 saw the release of Prabhu Deva's debut directorial venture 'Nuvvosthanante Nenoddantana' and it became a huge blockbuster. Then he directed the Tamil remake of Telugu blockbuster 'Pokkiri' with the same title and Ilayathalapathy Vijay in lead role. The film is one of the biggest blockbusters and the landmark film in the career of actor Vijay. He entered Bollywood as a director with 'Wanted' the Hindi remake of 'Pokkiri' with Salman Khan. He also directed 'Rowdy Rathore' the remake of 'Vikramarukudu' with Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinah and became a much sought after director in India's costliest film industry.

In the recent years Prabhu Deva has become busy as an actor and producer. Last year he made a stunning comeback with the trilingual film titled as 'Devi' in Tamil and the film was one of the super hits of the year. Presently he is acting as the lead hero in 'Yung Mung Sung' and as the lead villain in the Hindi remake of 'Kolayuthir Kalam'.
