Deverakonda peppers his speech with attitude, self-deprecation

Vijay Deverakonda wears his attitude on his sleeves. At the audio release function of 'Geetha Govindam' held on Sunday, the actor was every bit the cool guy that he is.
The 'What The F' song (now called 'What The Life') was trolled mercilessly when it was released recently and Deverakonda has taken the fair criticism with an open mind. "Asalu entha gattiga eskunnarabba nannu! Oka rendu rojulu gattigeskunnaru," he said in his style. Srimani had to go underground because the 'Manobhavalu Sangahalu' were offended by the lyrics. Since we have made 'Geetha Govindam' to entertain everybody, we don't want any hurt sentiments to be there. So, we have changed the lyrics. I have recorded for a new song. It was director Parusuram's insistence that only I should sing the number. The original version, we expected, would become a sensation. But it turned out to be the opposite. The new song is what will be there in the movie," VD said.
Just as he used the forbidden 'MC' word at the audio function of 'Arjun Reddy', the actor was still in the 'GG' mode at yesterday's function. He comically touched the feet of Allu Aravind, Parusuram and Bunny, proceeding to touch Rashmika Mandanna's feet even more comically. He addressed his female lead as Madam, much as his character does in 'GG'.
"I have changed for real. If you don't believe it, come watch our movie (August 15). Before this function today, Bunny Vas, the director, Aravind sir and all asked me to speak carefully and not do any 'raccha'. See I have changed," he said in a light-hearted manner.
"Come watch our movie with your parents. I want the love of your parents, too," VD signed off.
