Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, pan-India star Prabhas, and Malayalam legend Mohanlal are playing key roles in "Kannappa." Additionally, actresses Kajal Aggarwal and Madhoo are also part of the lead ensemble. Recently, Manchu Vishnu announced that the film team would release updates every Monday under the tagline "Kannappa Mande," further boosting anticipation.
In one such update, senior Sandalwood actor Devaraj's character was introduced. Devaraj portrays Mundadu, the leader of the Erukalu tribe. The character's backstory, hinted at in the poster, reveals that the Erukalu tribe originates from the Nilipala hill region and grew up drinking water from the Nandivinti stream. Mundadu's son, Bebbuli, aspires to become the leader of all tribes, adding depth to the narrative. The character of Sarath Kumar was also introduced recently, with a poster released on his birthday, confirming his significant role in the film.
Manchu Vishnu has announced that "Kannappa" will be released at the end of 2024. He revealed this through his 'X' (formerly Twitter) account, tweeting, "December 2024 Kannappa. Hara Hara Mahadev," which has heightened excitement among fans. The film's release in December will see it compete with other major pan-India films like Allu Arjun's "Pushpa 2," Ram Charan's "Game Changer," and Nithiin's "Robin Hood," making it a highly anticipated showdown at the box office.
