The much-awaited film Devara, starring NTR and directed by Koratala Siva, is set to hit the screens on the 27th of this month. As part of the movie's promotions, NTR, Koratala Siva, and actors Vishwak Sen and Sidhu Jonnalagadda sat down for a fun and insightful interview. The promo of the interview had already gone viral, and now the full interview is out, revealing exciting details about the film and the experiences of the cast and crew.
NTR on Feeling Confident Yet Nervous
NTR candidly expressed his mixed emotions about the film. "I'm feeling both confident and nervous about Devara. We've put so much effort into this movie. The central theme of the story is one I loveâbravery and fear. Typically, in commercial films, the hero is always fearless, leading others with courage. But in Devara, even the bravest feel fear, which is something I find very interesting," he shared. NTR emphasized that Devara carries an intense message, similar to Koratala Sivaâs previous works, and that is why heâs both confident and a bit anxious about its reception.
Koratala Sivaâs Accountability Fears
Director Koratala Siva also shared his thoughts on the movie, saying that his only real fear is the responsibility of delivering a film that meets expectations. "I'm not afraid of anything other than accountability. What I really fear is whether the emotion I've captured will resonate with the audience. Bringing together hundreds of people to make a film is a huge responsibility, and thatâs my biggest concern."
NTR Impressed by Janhvi Kapoor
NTR was full of praise for his co-star Janhvi Kapoor, who makes her South Indian film debut with *Devara*. "Janhvi has worked incredibly hard for this movie. Thereâs a scene where she delivers a two-page dialogue flawlessly, and both Shiva and I were stunned by her performance. Sheâs a dedicated actress and has a bright future ahead. Her role may be limited in this film, but it becomes crucial in the second part," NTR explained. He also mentioned that despite being unwell, Janhvi performed beautifully in the song âDawoodiâ right after being discharged from the hospital.
Koratala Siva on Challenging Sequences
Koratala Siva revealed some behind-the-scenes challenges, particularly with the song âAyudhapujaâ. "That sequence was extremely difficult to shoot and quite frustrating at times. We had planned it for the first schedule, and the scale of production was massive. Art director Sabu deserves credit for his phenomenal work. He didn't just bring boats for the shoot; he created entirely new ones for our sea scenes in Goa."
Devara: A Film of Two Parts
NTR also explained the scale of the project, saying that Devara is an 8-9 hour film, which is why it has been split into two parts. The first part, releasing on the 27th, sets the stage for a bigger story that will continue in the second part. He shared that while there is some romance in the movie, itâs presented differently. "This isn't your typical romance. Koratala Shiva has crafted something unique between the hero and heroine," NTR teased, humorously adding that it wonât be as bold as some of Sidhu Jonnalagaddaâs previous roles.
Fun and Banter with Vishwak Sen and Sidhu Jonnalagadda
The interview also featured light-hearted moments, with NTR joking around with Vishwak Sen and Sidhu Jonnalagadda. When asked about romance in the film, NTR sarcastically remarked that thereâs no romance "on the level" of what Sidhu is known for, drawing laughter from the group. At one point, NTR teased Sidhu about the challenges of filming, leading to humorous banter that kept the atmosphere lively.
Saif Ali Khanâs Role and the Filmâs Global Release
Saif Ali Khan plays the villain in Devara, and his performance is expected to be a major highlight of the film. Produced by Kalyan Ram and Sudhakar Cherukuri, Devara is set for a global release on September 27, 2024. While the movie has generated significant buzz overseas with strong advance bookings, the team is working to ramp up promotions in India, especially in Telugu-speaking regions.
This interview, filled with candid insights and playful moments, has only heightened the excitement for Devara. With its powerful themes, stellar cast, and high production values, the film is poised to make a mark at the box office.Vishwak Sen and Siddhu Jonnalagadda
