Movie buffs all over the globe love to watch multistarrers and are always hungry for new combos. Tamil cinema however has traditionally made few such films in the past but recently a change in the trend is seen. Recent superhit multi-hero blockbusters include 'Vikram Vedha' starring Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi, 'Petta' starring Superstar Rajinikanth, Vijay Sethupathi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Sasikumar and the most notable is 'Master' that brought together Thalapathy Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi.
Currently, the biggest multistarrer Tamil film in the making is 'Vikram' with Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi, and Fahadh Faasil in the lead roles. Now there is a strong buzz that Kamal himself has started initial work for yet another mega flick which is the sequel to one of his most memorable classics 'Devar Magan'.
'Devar Magan' was released in the year 1992 and the major highlight of course is Nadigar Thilagam Sivaji Ganesan's towering performance as the village head. It is said that Kamal has written the sequel and will be handing over the direction work to Mahesh Narayanan of 'Malik' fame who is making huge strides in Malayalam cinema.
Unconfirmed news about 'Devar Magan 2' is that Kamal is planning to cast himself as the aging village head with Vikram playing his son and Vijay Sethupathi as the son of the villain in the original played by Nassar.
If this news turns out to be true fans will be treated to three monster performers Kamal, Vikram and Vijay Sethupathi in the same movie. Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope it does materialize.
