The makers of 'Dev' are promoting the romantic-action film as a very updated movie that the present generation can relate to. Speaking about the February 14th release, Karthi has said that he always wanted to do a movie that reflects the space of the generation.

"Our film has a beautiful story. Love and friendship are its pivotal themes. Rakul Preet Singh's Meghana and my Dev come with contrasting thinking patterns. What kind of problems they face in love is narrated in an interesting fashion," Karthi said, adding that his combination with Rakul will entertain the audience once again (after 'Khakee').

Rakul will be seen in a "powerful role". Going by the trailer, she plays a career-oriented, independent-minded woman. "You will all like my character. Rajath is a new director but he never felt like one. 'Dev' is an amalgam of all emotions," she says.
