Looks like Swastika Mukherjee has managed to grab publicity, but in wrong way, even before the release of her first Bollywood movie. The Bengali actress who is making her B-Town debut in Dibakar Banerjee's upcoming film Detective Byomkesh Bakshi', reported to have been accused of shoplifting at a boutique in Singapore.

As per media reports, Swastika along with her boyfriend Suman Mukherjee was in Singapore to attend Darpan Film Festival. There while visiting a boutique she allegedly lifted earrings worth US$225 and her act was even caught by CCTV. The incident was brought to light by the boutique owner, Apsara Oswal who informed about it to the Darpan Film Festival authorities. However, no police complaint has been lodged against Swastika.

Reports also revealed that the actress fled from her hotel on Monday morning along with her boyfriend. Ironically, this is not the first time that Swastika has been in news. Earlier buzz had been that she allegedly tried to commit suicide following a fight with her beau.

Well, going by her debut movie Detective Byomkesh Bakshi', we wonder if this shoplifting actor is for real or film's promotional stunt...
