Desperate duo, desperate film

When you see Shivaji and Laya you feel very protective. Both of them have a next-neighbor personality and a cute simplicity. You desperately want them to succeed.

And they too must be feeling the same way after what has happened to their respective careers.

Shivaji, after much promise and appeal, has been slowly slipping into anonymity. His last few films have not done so swell at the box office.

If Ammayi Bagundi offered hope, the rest like Swaraabhishekam, Mrs and Mr Shailaja Krishnamurthy and Konchem Touchlo Vunte Cheputha have not created any ripples.

Laya's career too is no different. Her last big release was Vijayendra Varma. And every one knows what happened to the film. Laya has moved to Malayalam.

Though her film there has been declared a hit, Laya has not landed herself any new movies. So when such a duo is coming together for a film, it should be interesting.

Adirindayya Chandram, the film that pits them together, is very interesting. For one, Shivaji has a radical role while the otherwise laidback Laya has done a bit of glamour in some song sequences.

It is all a clear sign of desperate situations calling for desperate measures.
