Bhaskaran has been employed as a driver for several years by the Tamil Nadu Deputy chief minister O.Paneerselvam and he lives with his family at the PWD quarters in Saidapet. Bhaskar's daughter Lakshmi (name changed) who is studying plus two in a private school did not open her bedroom door till late morning on Saturday.

When the family knocked on the door and still there was no response from Lakshmi they broke opened the door and were shocked to find the teenaged girl hanging dead on a rope on the ceiling. The police were called in and postmortem was conducted on the body. It has been stated by the family members that the girl was suffering from various ailments and took the extreme step due to the unbearable pain she was going through. The police are also probing to make sure if any foul play is involved in the death as well.
