In the wake of information that several private school managements have hiked school fees for the academic year 2020-21, the Chairperson of the Andhra Pradesh School Education Regulatory Monitoring Commission has issued an instruction to Regional Joint Directors of School Education and all District Education Officers. The instruction says that private schools should be made to comply with the rules regarding school fees.
"All the RJDSEs and DEOs in the State are hereby informed that it has come to the notice of the Commission that some managements of the private schools have hiked the fees and are collecting them without following the Government's and the Commission's instructions," the notice says.
"Therefore, you are hereby directed to issue necessary instructions once again to all the Managements of Private unaided recognized schools which are affiliated to State Board, CBSE, ICSE, and other international boards not to increase any kind of fees for the academic year, and shall charge only tuition fee as mentioned in the above references until further orders. Ensure that all the school managements follow the guidelines," the official notice reads.
